An attraction for everyone…Disneyland!!

In our class this year we are doing a project called CLIL: we are studying some aspects of the USA in English.

The touristic attraction which we liked most is Disneyland.

This place is situated in Orlando (America) and it was created on 1° October 1971 by Walt Disney. It’s defined by a lot of people “The happiest place in the World” because there are a lot of rides for every age.

Walter Elias Disney was born in Chicago on 5 December 1901. He was an entertainer, an entrepreneur, a draftsman, a dubber and a moviemaker. Disneyland was the first entertainment park to be created, but Walt Disney is also famous for being the father of cartoons and the creator of films with music (musicals).

Walt Disney died on 15 December 1966. From the moment of his death, his brother Roy Disney coordinated the project of the park. During the first years, the project was simply called Disney World, but Roy Disney added “Walt” at the name in order to give memory to his brother. His words were: “Everyone heard about the cars called Ford, but also about Henry Ford who produced them. Walt Disney World is a memory of the man who created all this, so people will remember his name as long as Walt Disney World will exist.”

Now, we will show you a lot of theme parks:

-Magic Kingdom

-Epcot

-Disney’s Holliwood Studio

-Disney’s Animals Kingdom

-Disney typhoon lagoon
